Wednesday’s Weekly Challenge-Use Your Scraps

I recently saw a very clever way of using those leftover scraps that I loved. It involved rolling up strips of paper, and then putting them on the layout in a tube-like shape. The scrapper did a line of all different, colorful rolls of paper in a row against a white background. The effect was beautiful! Here is a link to the finished project if you are anything like me and need a visual. This was instantly one of my favorite layouts and went right into my favorites folder. I find that it is called scrapbooking for a reason. We … Continue reading

Wednesday’s Weekly Challenge-Lots of Circles

I saw this layout recently that I loved that involved a ton of circles. So, for this week’s challenge, I thought we could try to imitate this layout, and cut lots of circles. My first idea, that I have used on a layout of my own, is to cut five strips of patterned papers that you love in equal length and width. Use either black or white cardstock for the background of the layout. Place the photo, or photos, you are … Continue reading

Making Journaling Meaningful

I recently did a layout of my daughter. The instant I saw the picture I was going to use, I knew my title, and what my journaling would say. This particular picture is of my daughter a couple of months before she turned 3. She had this look on her face that just made me ache inside with the realization that she was getting to be a “big girl”. I wanted to convey those feelings onto the layout so that one day, she could look at this page and know how I felt in that moment. My title was, “That … Continue reading
