Affordable Winter Escapes

Don’t wait until after Christmas to jet out of town on a family getaway.  If you are looking to score some serious travel bargains, now is the time to hit the road.

You can take advantage of money-saving offerings in these popular vacation destinations from now until December 26th:

New York City:  Believe it or not, you can snag a bargain in the Big Apple in the weeks preceding Christmas.  Take in the amazing holiday light displays, skate at Rockefeller Center, shop on Fifth Avenue and sled in Central Park while saving money on your hotel room.  The Hotel Wolcott is featuring rooms for just $150 based on availability, between December 16th and 26th. The exceptionally clean property is located next door to the Empire State Building and features complimentary continental breakfast.  What’s more, you are just steps away from fantastic shops and a slew of popular holiday attractions.

Bahamas:  Nothing cures the winter blues faster than soaking up the sun on a tropical island.  Escape from the pre-Christmas chaos by taking a three-night cruise from Miami to the Bahamas on Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas.  The cruise line is offering last-minute deals on interior cabins starting at $169 per person plus port taxes.  The early December itineraries stop at the line’s private island, Coco Cay, plus you get full access to the ship’s incredible amenities.

Mexico:  If the Bahamas doesn’t float your boat, then head to Mexico this December.  The luxurious Fairmont Mayakoba, located along a pristine stretch of the Yucatan coastline, is running a winter sale that reduces rates at the resort by 20%.  That translates to huge savings and brings the price of a room to just $175 per night.  The Fairmont Mayakoba is one of Mexico’s most popular high-end resorts and during the first three weeks of December you can relax in a spacious room with a furnished terrace or balcony for the price of a few tanks of gas.
