Do Video Games Affect Schoolwork? A New Study Says Yes - Blog Entry

At 18 months, my kids could wriggle into a computer chair and type in DOS prompts to play Reader Rabbit. So, basically, they were born with silver keyboards in their hands.

This is probably why they can self regulate... it is just not a big deal.

I actually disagree with most of the comments here. I am all for making education as much fun as possible and purchase learning games whenever possible. My two very bright kids have few restrictions when it to using technology, but interestingly enough, they leave the more mindless stuff for weekends and homeschool breaks.

Teachers Use Harry Potter to Teach Science - Blog Entry

Harry Potter... Science? Maybe modern lit, but not science... I would have a problem with that if my kids were required to take such a course.... and yes, it is partly for religious reasons. I have to go through my kids instinct on this one.

Do You Really Think You're a Better Teacher? - Blog Entry

I agree with Karabu... No teacher should ever worry about me thinking I can do a better job at them at what they do. When my kids have more than 2 friends in my home with them, I begin to feel anxious. So a classroom full of kids would send me into an absolute tizzy!

But as for what I can do individually with the kids I gave birth to... Now that's a different story.
