It was just not televised and reported waaaaay back then Parents- Control Your Kids' Behavior In School Or You May Have To Pay A Fine - Blog Entry15 Jan 2007 11:16 AM It sounds like a good idea but... the reason there is not threat of a child getting a spanking is that parents are afraid to hit their children for fear of child abuse charges... this is why kids are so bad. When I was in school, it was not the spankings the kids feared, but the public spankings by the parent while still at the school. Now it looks like parents hands are tied coming and going. Remove the initial threat and allow parents to discipline their kids in the first place and (with the exception of kids being used for labor) the fine would not be necessary. "Say hello to Aunt or Uncle so and so", "give such and such a hug or kiss". "Do whatever the teacher tells you". "The prncipal is you pal"... WHATEVER! I, like you, allow my kids to say no to any and every situation that does not feel right, and encourage them to tell me when they think I should be more wary.
