Does More Money Mean a Better Education? - Blog Entry22 Dec 2006 10:23 AM like you said... it's now how much, but how it is used! How many poor people have a lot better handle on their money than rich? Airports-The Good Old Days - Blog Entry22 Dec 2006 10:05 AM I don't know. Back in 1998 I got off a plane to New Orleans with two kids and three backpacks. I exhaused and covered in water and vomit. My meticulously curled hair was a mop, and the kids had the excited energy of an agitated squirrel. THANK GOD my husband was at the end of the ramp. But trade a half hour of help for a line that could take an hour or more than it already does... I don't know. Needless to say that without the ability to have help, I avoid flying with kids. Camping In The Living Room - Blog Entry22 Dec 2006 09:39 AM Sounds like fun! My daughter did this in the upstairs hall last week.... we have one of those bridge like halls because of 2 story rooms downstars. Instead of chairs she used rope and blankets... It blocked my path to the kids rooms so I only let it stay up for 24 hours. She enjoyed sleeping there overnight. Dad loved it! I drew the line on food though. The Homeschoolers' Advent Calendar: Kung His Hsin Nien bing Chu Shen Tan - Blog Entry22 Dec 2006 09:35 AM Have a multicultural Christmas! The Fight Over 'Intelligent Design' - Blog Entry21 Dec 2006 06:36 AM This happened around the corner from me. As a creationist homeschooler myself I have had to teach my kids about evolution... and they debated me on the legitimacy of it. In the end, in order for them to accept the information, I had to preface every "fact" with "according to the evolution theory". I had to do the same thing with Greek mythology! Diary of an Overweight Mom: Sometimes You've Got To Bake a Cheesecake - Blog Entry21 Dec 2006 06:29 AM mmmm, cheesecake! The Kid Computer Revolution - Blog Entry21 Dec 2006 06:26 AM My son was born with a keyboard in his hand. At 2 years old, he knew the dos prompts (remember those?) and once he crawled into the chair, there was nothing to stop him. At 12 years old, he is designing web sites and creating video games. Yes, I have to push him out the house and lock the door for a while every day, and yes, he is overly logical. But this is the comuter age and it does not hurt to have that competitive edge. My daugther on the other hand is the dangerous one. At 10 years old, with the same background, the only thing she is interested in with the internet is shopping and downloading music. So I think that different types of kids react to computers in different ways. Fashion Forward? WARNING Labels On Clothes For Obese People - Blog Entry20 Dec 2006 08:33 AM I would learn to sew. I would never purchase clothing that included an isult... like I don't know I'm fat!
