I read and tried to ingore that article. Just like the ones that say African Americans are less intellingent, I gather a researcher had nothing valuable to do.

I wrote an article about this last week (elsewhere). What bothered me MOST is that so many people thought that parents had NO reason to be upset, only that it was a good opportunity to explain sex. ... and some of these people had kids!

Karri, the good news is most kindergarten and pre-k classrooms have bathrooms now. thanks for the note. The problem with the middle schoolers is teachers treat them like adults when their bodies have not matured yet. When they have to go, they have to go!

Not sure why the boy was suspended. He did go in the bottle and all of the kids turned their backs, so you can't tell me that the teacher didn't tell him to do it and them to turn thier backs. As for my son, we never thought anything of it. Children were only allotted so much time in the bathroom and my son could take a long time. In hindsight I should have demanded an exception be made but I always thought my verbal reminders that he had a physical problem would be enough.

In otherwords, Karr, I agree with you about diversity being a perk... it is also indicative of the neighborhood.

It certainly is more of a perk than concern. In fact, the school my child attended one year in upstate NY was quite a concern as he was the only child that was different from others.
