my husband was hit by a car on 12/21/2006while driving to work on his motor scooter.The officer on scene thought my husband had been killed and had the medavac helicopter on standby. My husband missed several days of work and still has pain in his right hand & knee. He says he feels good and the docs said it takes some time to heal. Anyway we missed out on Christmas and New years. No gifts, no tree, no family gatherings. I had surgery in the beginning of december and my husband was caring for me but when he had his accident, he no longer could help me.The other guys ins man called us today and offered us 1,500 for pain & suffering. (we were hoping to not have to get a lawyer) My husband says that is ridiculously low. Any advise as to how we should handle this. The other guy was cited on the spot at the scene of the accident. It was a very traumatic experience. Would it be worth getting a lawyer or should we try with a counter offer prior to obtaining legal counsel? thank you
