My 2 oldest for example, never complained, cried, ran a fever or anything. I take them in for their check ups and BAM they have a serious ear infection. Once, I took my child in and his ear drum was on the verge of rupturing. I guess that I am the unlucky one with my children that don't have the normal symptoms.....LOL:) When Baby Falls - Trust Your Instincts - Blog Entry22 May 2006 10:09 AM Falls do happen. I think that my 2 boys fell off the bed and the changing table at least once. As for my daughter, I was at work and my husband was watching the kids. He had her setting in her bouncy seat, on the island. Needless to say, while he had his back turned for just a second (empting the dishwasher) she BOUNCED her was off the island (while being straped in)! Yes, it was scary, and he didn't call me right away. She was fine other than being very scared. I think that it hurts the parents more than the children, in most cases that is. It brings tears of joy to my eyes to sit back and remember those "good" times. I can remember my mom and I taking the kids to pool for a wonderful day of swimming the day before she died. My son, who is 8 now, had the vaccine and in kindergarten guess what, he got a very MILD case of chicken pox! I mean MILD, maybe about 20 bumps and that was it and he was better in 3 days. So it does shorten it and make it less severe. Not only do I have an 8 yr old with behavior problems, but my 3 yr old has a speech delay and his way of communicating for a long time was crying, kicking, and screaming. This was his only way to communicate. Boy did I get the looks and still do, since you can't understand what he is saying most of the time. People always are giving us the "LOOK". One who has ADHD, one who has a speech delay, and one that is too young to know! But I wouldn't change any of it for the world! I did have the triple screen test with all 3 of my pregnancies and 2 came back fine, but my last pregnancy came back that I tested positive for Trisomy 18. I had a level III ultrasound done and she was fine. Yes, I was scared, worried, and concerned until I saw her, but she was fine. Yes, I was told of my options if she indeed would have had Trisomy 18. I just know that I have children that have problems and I would NOT change any of this for the world.
