Getting Ready................

What a day I am having!!! A very busy day in fact!  I always realize why I hate to travel.  The stuff that needs to get done before you can even hit the road is so much when you have three small children.  I know that we are all looking forward to the trip to visit my dad, the children's PaPa.  But I can't stand the preparation for it.  The laundry that needs to be done, the packing of medicines, personal items, hair dryer, etc.  I have been doing laundry for two days, just trying to get ALL the laundry done before we leave so that I don't have to come home and do it.  Then, I am attempting to staighten up the house so that when we come home, we can come back to a sort of cleaned house.  Though, I amnot sure if I will get that done or not.  I have to pack for five people.  Yes, you read this right!  I have to pack for myself, JD, Zachary, Catherine, and my husband James.  For some reason, not sure what it is, he won't pack his own stuff!  So I have to ask him what clothes he wants to bring and take it from there!

Then, I have the issue of toys.  The kids want to bring toys to their PaPa's house and I can'tblame them.  He has no toys there.  But they want to bring the whole house!  I keep telling them that we can bring a few items each, but not EVERYTHING!!!!  They just don't understand.  Thank goodness for the fact that right across the street from my dads house is the playground!  I love that!  They will have something to do everyday, unlike when we visitedhim over Christmas last year.  It was just way too cold for them to be playing on the playground.  I also know that I will be sitting in the house all by myself with the kids for at least two or three days, just like last time so that James and my dad can go play golf!  Who knows, maybe this time, I will put the kids in the car and drive and try to find something interesting to do.  If I get lost, I can always stop and ask someone for directions, right???

Well, wish us luck with driving 8 hours, ok, it may take 9 with how many times we may have to stop for potty breaks (with having a newly potty trained child).  I can just hear it now.  Mom, I have to go now!!!!  then, two hours later, Mom, I have to go again!!!  UHHHH!!!  the fun part of traveling.  Thank goddness for DVD's and Gameboy!  I have a feeling those are going to be our life savers.  I will let you know how it was when we return.  Later for now........................
