Weight Loss: Accountability and the Buddy System

17 Feb 2009 03:57 PM

Thanks for sharing that website, egg. I will have to check it out. I am always looking for more options in exercise sites. Yes, I think by telling people that we are dieting we are less apt to give up. Once we tell them we are then accountable to someone. It keeps us motivated!

Thanks Valorie! I know that this would not work in every instance, but this was just a thought that I had circling around in my brain as I sat there contemplating what I was going to get to eat that day. Silly me!

Raynaud's Phenomenon

07 Feb 2009 03:01 AM

That's a good question, Dale! They are similiar with both being cold-related disorders, but in Raynaud's the attack only lasts for hours whereas in chillblains you develop reddish-purple ulcerations, which would last for days. The other distinguishing factor is that in Raynaud's your fingertips and/or tips of your toes (the most commonly affected areas) turn white, then blue (depleting oxygen), and then normalize to their pinkish-red color. Thanks for reading!

You, Your Kids and Divorce: Coming Back

25 Jan 2009 04:03 AM

So glad to hear that, pastfirst. Being the bigger person is so difficult, but good for you. You were. Though you say it is not a friendly relationship, and just cordial that is wonderful and that is enough. You have had to deal with your own pain too. You have the comfort of knowing that you did it for your kids and I am sure that they will always appreciate it. Blessings.

A Day in the Life of a Nurse: The Hours We Keep

22 Jan 2009 06:26 PM

Your job sounds interesting! Ah yes, the neverending paperwork. It never stops, does it? That is great that you don't have to work weekends. The nursing job that I have currently allows me to be off on the weekends also, which is a change from previous nursing jobs. I am enjoying it.

A Day In The Life Of A Nurse: What Does A Nurse Do?

17 Jan 2009 09:01 PM

Thank you for sharing that! What an exciting job she has! I work in an adult living facility and although not as exciting as what your aunt does it is rewarding in other ways nonetheless. Being a nurse or anyone in the medical field gives one a great feeling at the end of the work day. You are right, some days it is emotionally taxing, but you have to focus on the positive in the medical field and count the blessings.
