While I do feel for Fox and wish him well, there is a great deal more to the embryonic stem cell debate, and people need to look at the issues instead of voting based on emotion for a much loved celebrity, IMO. I don't like any of this stuff and I don't see how all this fascination with death, morbid things, and evil can be healthy. I used to think people exaggerated about Halloween being evil, but between things like this and the ever more morbid products, services, costumes, movies, shows, and even commercials being shown at this time each year, I think they have a point. I do think it's a shame that my kids will never know the joys of the "free for all" Halloween times we had as kids, but like you said, at least they still get to have a good time and be safe. My youngest really doesn't even know she's missing anything, although my older girls occassionally wax nostalgic about the huge bags of candy they used to bring home (still, I went with them and it wasn't like when we were little).
