The fence is too little, too late, and it's just to stir up voters. It's not that Mexican people are not wanted here, we just want them to come in legally. Do you really think it's fair to people who do come here legally that they have to go through all the processes while others do not? Mexicans are not the only people coming here, but they are the only ones getting a free pass, while others have to work to become citizens. An open border also puts us at risk to enemy attack. I believe the only reason we haven't secured our borders is because we don't want to treat illegal immigrants like an enemy and use military force against them. We want to preserve our relationship with Mexico, and we don't want people to die for wanting to come here. Yet, we should put our homeland and all our citizens at risk every day by having open borders? I never said illegals are worthless or that they don't deserve "any" rights. My point is that some of them come here and demand the same rights as citizens and basically spit in our faces (some do, not all). I would think you would be just as bothered by that. I hope someday you can become a citizen, and I also hope you'll try to see this from the other side. Marriage Debates: Unrealistic Demand - Blog Entry07 Oct 2006 08:33 AM Thanks Eleanore, I think these topics need discussion and debate, and that both sides need to be heard. Projects to Support Our Troops - Blog Entry07 Oct 2006 08:26 AM I haven't seen this one. I'll have to give it a look. Lasting Marriages - Blog Entry06 Oct 2006 08:37 AM Wow, Dawn, that is awesome! Thanks for sharing. My husband and I rarely argue either. We disagree sometimes, of course, but we talk things through and manage to work things out together. We've only had a couple of "fights" early on. Both of us grew up with fighting parents, and we didn't want that for our kids. Congratulations to your folks, and to you and your husband! Marriage Debates: Unrealistic Demand - Blog Entry05 Oct 2006 07:04 AM I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Perhaps you're saying there is no "legal" alternative to marriage? Happy Anniversary to Me! - Blog Entry02 Oct 2006 05:49 AM Happy Anniversary! I hope you and your husband enjoy many more years together, Heather. Precious picture! :o) Soap Operas? Who has time?! - Blog Entry01 Oct 2006 11:05 AM Too funny, Libby. I think I could watch once or twice and catch back up too. I don't really have a favorite nighttime show right now. My TV watching at this point usually involves watching Bear's games and catching up on the news. Soap Operas? Who has time?! - Blog Entry30 Sep 2006 01:58 PM Very true, Libby.
