Common Law Marriage - Blog Entry

Jaime, I think it's common to think that it's widely accepted across the U.S., and the seven year thing has been around for a long time. I thought that's how it was too, until I started looking into it.

I wish your dad much happiness, Libby. I'm glad he was able to find someone to share his life with.

Thirteen times! Wow... just wow. I'll have to see if I can find some stats that show what the record number of marriages is, but I'm guessing 13 is in the running!

Can a Marriage Survive an Affair? - Blog Entry

Kristyn, thank you for sharing your experience and your advice. I'll have more on this topic later, but I hope people will also read your very insightful comments. I want people to do what is best for them individually, rather than what they think is expected of them. The woman in the article felt she "had" to stay and put up with such treatment. No one deserves to be subjected to such mistreatment and disrespect. I think women put too much blame on themsevles for affairs that their spouses engage in. Problems in the marriage may lead up to an affair, but breaking one's vows is one's own choice and responsibility. No one else's. Thanks again for sharing.

Can Therapy Hurt Your Marriage? - Blog Entry

Very true. It's so important to find a therapist that is a good "fit." I should add that you can "fire" your therapist and look for a new one, and you shouldn't feel bad about doing so. Therapy is to benefit your marriage, not the therapist.

I think that will definitely make the transition smoother. My youngest starts Kindergarten this year and she has a few little projects to work on (tying shoes, coloring pages with the letters of her name, etc) but nothing quite like that. That is a really good idea.

So, are you going to cry the first day, Mom? *sniffle*

Hi Nichole; thanks for your comments. I'd venture to say that most home businesses don't involve E-Bay. ;o)

UPDATE: The Video Professor System is structured similar to a book club. They will send future videos, which you must return or pay for. Since I shy away from the book club concept, I wanted to let everyone know.
