Workplace Romances

Apparently, there are quite a few couples that meet at work and they go on to have great relationships. However, some caution is advised, mainly because of the reasons you noted. Thanks, Angie!

Make Pumpkin Pals!

Sure, Anita! I'm glad you like this idea. We have the same problem here in Arkansas, so this makes pumpkins last a little longer. :o)

How's My Teen's Driving?

15 Oct 2006 09:42 AM

I believe it takes good parents rather than a village to raise a child, but a little help can't hurt. I think this is a cool idea, especially now that I have a child who will soon be a licensed driver!

What's Going on in Your Area?

15 Oct 2006 09:22 AM

We have two October birthdays also! They are near the beginning of the month instead of the end, and we do have the whole fall fest/harvest thing coming up at church. I just think it's neat how different people in different areas have fun or celebrate... Thanks for responding, Megan.

Wisconsin Legislator Calls for Teachers to Carry Guns in School

14 Oct 2006 02:43 PM

Kaye and Surkis both make valid points, IMO. I don't really know about arming teachers. Perhaps a guard or other member of the staff could be trained sufficiently and could be armed to protect students. I do belief that law abiding armed citizens save lives. You just won't hear much about these stories because they aren't in line with the gun control agenda. Gun control isn't about guns, it's about control. It limits the law abiding citizen's ability to protect him or herself and family, but does nothing to keep guns out of the hands of madmen and criminals.

Is Your Baby Mentally Stable?

14 Oct 2006 02:30 PM

There may be some benefit to these programs, but I think we need to cautious about "diagnosing" children at such early ages, especially since some symptoms of disorders tend to be normal childhood problems, which children will outgrow. Education and some therapies may work, but we have WAY too much drugging of children in this country... at earlier ages all the time and many of these drugs aren't even approved for children.

Another Yankee Tragedy

I was really shaken when this happened, and I'm nowhere near New York. I'm sorry for those who were lost and their families, but I'm so thankful no more were lost. Still, it brought back memories of 9/11 very sharply.
