Good points Kori, but don't you wish just once, they'd shut the door or turn out the light without having to be told? Art

Looking For My Waist: There Should Be Dancing! - Blog Entry

Dancing is the most fun you can have standing up!!! When I was young, I stayed on the dance floor. It was my favorite thing to do besides riding my horses. Both are excellent exercise, so I was thin, healthy and happy on the dance floor. Enjoy. Art

There is joy in seeing our children progress positively. It's like sometimes your heart feels a little too big for your chest. Art

Ed, please forgive me for hogging the posts. One more comment, not related to the topic, check out a blog written by Laurie G. in Fun, called Marshmallow Sculptures. When I read it, I thought of my boys and then I thought of yours. It is excellent for a rainy day project! and the weather in our part of the country is keeping us all inside right now. Artcraft

FYI, file this under "trivial trivia". Patty Duke and I have the same birthday. I loved her in the Miracle Worker, as well. Yrs. later when she played Anne Sullivan in the remake, I thought she was equally fantastic. Art

Ed, you might try color coding the vitamins. Yellow stands for a good grade (for a test that day), green is for a sunshiny day (if its raining), etc. Whatever is relevant for the boys. That way you have a little more say in it. Walter, do you want a yellow gummy bear for good grades today, to help you with that test? You get the idea. Artcraft

Adoption and Your Employer - Blog Entry

Anna, I had already retired from food service due to my mother's terminal illness and the around the clock care she would need until the end, by the time we blended with the boys. I can't understand (for the life of me!!) how people don't get the fact that if these children aren't adopted, loved, and nourished mentally and physically, their tax dollars will be supporting these kids, probably for the rest of their lives in one form or another, albeit shelters, rehab, fostercare, prison, and the same needs for th children they will have. Don't they understand what a big favor an adoptive family is doing for society? I really don't see how they miss the Big Picture. Artcraft

Poker? - Journal Entry

17 Jan 2007 06:14 PM

I am not offended at all, I am an avid poker player, too. I also play on line, freeroll of course. This may offend someone out there, but let me explain. I have taught the boys to play poker, after asking Randy's psychiatrist what she thought, she was in agreement it was a good idea. Poker (without money, as in-no gambling) is a game like any other card game. Poker has intricate strategies, excellent math lessons, visual learning qualities, and body language strategies. We play as a family and have a fantastic time. The boys have learned a lot. Glad you posted this blog, it is good. Artcraft
