The Dietary Problems of Poor People - Blog Entry

Honestly Ed, you cover topics I think of all the time! When the boys came into our home, virtually all they would eat was Raamen soup pkgs. and tortillas. The first dinner I made for them was wonderful, a beautifully roasted pork roast, salad and homemade 1000 dressing, fresh veggies, cold milk, a pineapple upside down cake. They barely touched it and completely ignored that gorgeous desert! Had I given them soup and crackers, they would have devoured the meal. It took a long time but their tastes have grown and changed. They will eat some veggies now, all entrees I make, ALL deserts (especially pineapple upside down cake) and love my breads, rolls and biscuits. Now to work on cutting some of the carbs out of their diet. I have created eating machines!!!! Artcraft p.s. they never ask for pkg. soup anymore.

We have a lot of power outages in the rural area we live in. We learned the hard way about using power surge cords. After losing a tv and the computer, we installed these. Flashlights are abundant around here. Good advice, Anna. Art

The Family that Prays Together Stays Together - Blog Entry

MJ, when visiting my son and his wife this summer, we so enjoyed standing in the doorway of our grandson's bedroom and watching his parents tuck him in and pray with him, he was 18 mo. old. It's never to early to pray together as a family. Artcraft

Rescue a Child - Blog Entry

I wish everyone could make one trip to a shelter. Just walk through the building, check out the bare walls, feel the coldness and the stark reality that children call this building with paid workers to care for them, home. There are no unbroken toys, no happy posters on the wall, no mom happily preparing dinner in the kitchen, no dad throwing them a ball in the nonexistent backyard, just lonely displaced little kids, desparately needing a family.
