She does have some time yet, probably enough for one last good summer. A chance to let her back outside to explore the smells and sun herself. A chance to spoil her a little and give her treats that we probably wouldn't normally. Then if she starts to show the signs that she has had enough we will let her go. We are going to asses her health and make a decision about what to do next. The very fact that we have to do this means that she is not doing well, and I have a feeling I know what the outcome will be. She has been my friend and companion for all my adult life.
