One Last Good Summer

The vet agrees with me, my cat is slipping away. She does have some time yet, probably enough for one last good summer. A chance to let her back outside to explore the smells and sun herself. A chance to spoil her a little and give her treats that we probably wouldn't normally. Then if she starts to show the signs that she has had enough we will let her go.

Worries

I'm taking my old cat (nearly 20 years) to the vet this afternoon. We are going to asses her health and make a decision about what to do next.  The very fact that we have to do this means that she is not doing well, and I have a feeling I know what the outcome will be. She has been my friend and companion for all my adult life.

My Daughter and Lee Valley

I am sitting here trying to squeeze in a little writing time when I hear her talking. "That isn't for little kids...  Oooo look pumpkins!...  That's pretty...  Maybe we need a bird feeder."  The self talk goes on as I listen to her do her "shopping" in the Lee Valley catalog. "That is an owl - I don't think he likes his crown.

Miscarriage & Loss

I think that losing a baby, especially one that you want, takes an emotional toll no matter when you lose it.

What's everyone doing for Father's Day?

My Mom met the man that she is going to marry online through a dating service. They are so compatible - two peas in a pod. I don't know how they would have met otherwise.

Autism & Thermasol

Having just had my daughter in for her 4 1/2 year vaccinations I asked the nurse. In Canada all vaccines are Thermasol/Mercury free.
