07 Jun 2006 03:03 PM My Daughter and Lee Valley
I am sitting here trying to squeeze in a little writing time when I hear her talking. "That isn't for little kids... Oooo look pumpkins!... That's pretty... Maybe we need a bird feeder." The self talk goes on as I listen to her do her "shopping" in the Lee Valley catalog. "That is an owl - I don't think he likes his crown." She's doing more of this lately, talking about what she is looking at, and making up stories about the pictures in books and magazines. This is another reason why it's great to be home with her, and have the chance to watch her growing up and appreciating her for the person she is becoming. Michele Cheplic (40554) 07 Jun 2006 04:52 PMMy daughter is just getting to the stage where she can identify pictures in books (she's 2) and I too hear her "reading" to herself while I am working at the computer... I thought the same thing you did...Thank God for the opportunity to get the chance to watch her grow up and... I'm so glad that I don't have to miss out on this. Aurora (303) 07 Jun 2006 07:12 PMMichele - it really is a gift to be able to have this time with them. My oldest is off to kindergarten in the fall and these are the last few months that I will have her all to myself - next fall the world starts to get to pull on her. I'm treasuring this time!
