We did low paying jobs at home, making pot scourers and all sorts of odd things., or delivering junk mail where I could take kids in the pram etc to supplement our income so I could be home with the kids. I wasn't discounting their talent but don't think it should always be an excuse for bad behavior either. There have been other great writers, artists, musicians who have managed to serve their talent and not walk over others in the process. Good to hear your thoughts though.
