I'm also a big fan of Madeleine L'Engle's non fiction eg Walking on Water, the Crosswick Journals. Madeleine L'Engle always challlenged me to think about my faith even if I didn't always agree with some of the conclusions she came to. Broken Ring, Broken Heart - Blog Entry12 Jul 2008 03:34 PM Can imagine how bad you feel, Courtney. I lost the garent out of the ring my dh bought me for our 40 year wedding anniversay. I was so upset. We a were watching footy in a crowd. When the lady behind saw the panic and scrabbling round, she had a look and found the stone under her seat in her row and handed it back. Fortunely the ring was still under warranty and so we took it back to the shop and they fixed it all up. Ths stupid part was I'd thought to myself I shouldn't wear this probably to the footy, since I get right it flag waving and clapping, but then ignored that inner prompting. Fiction would make up most of my reading, although I also like reading poetry, biographies and journals by writers etc. While I read my Bible I do not read a lot of other Christian non fiction. I remember hearing that people who divorced once were more likely to divorce again but didn't know what the actual stats were. And I think that pre-marriage counselling is good idea. Anything that can help people make wise choices and realise that marriages need to be worked at not just abandoned when the going gets tough and that honeymooon period QueenAngie mentioned is over. But then sequels re often not as good as the original.I often wonder what the book was like that the first film came from.
