Life Should Be Easier, Right? - Blog Entry

Glad it was helpful. God always seems to know what we need and when, doesn't He?

Kids Rooms: Your Child's Dream Room - Blog Entry

07 Mar 2008 05:25 PM

I painted a mural on my daughter's wall. It wasn't great art as I'm nobody's idea of an artist but it was colorful and she liked it. She was surrounded by colour. I also checked out of the library lots of picture books which I read to her but some I just got out for the artwork as she was always interested in the pictures. She grew up and did visual art and has always been a more visual, arty person.

Lasting Marriages - Blog Entry

07 Mar 2008 05:08 PM

My husband and I have been married for more than two thirds of our lives and still love spending time together. I had some thought about our marraige and why it works in http://christian.families.com/blog/keeping-the-happily-ever-after

Long Marriages: This Family Knows How to Do It - Blog Entry

07 Mar 2008 05:05 PM

Have to admit I'd like to see those stats too. We're not up to a golden anniversary but we're well on our way. I covered some ideas about how we keep our marriage alive and well in http://christian.families.com/blog/keeping-the-happily-ever-after

How Much Do You Need to have in Common? - Blog Entry

07 Mar 2008 04:57 PM

I have to say I had a fair idea of the qualites and personality traits I could live with and those I could not. See my blog http://christian.families.com/blog/happily-ever-after. So while there may be a physical attraction, I still had this other checklist. We share some of the same likes and interests but not all, like when He puts Bob Dylan CDs on! But he mostly listens to them while gardening so it is not a problem, since I don't garden, or at least not often.

How to deal With Clutter in a Day - Blog Entry

07 Mar 2008 01:48 PM

Sorry if the title was misleading. I was thinking of the activities and attitudes that clutter our lives. Although as I read your post, it sounds like there is an issue here that needs to be dealt with. Have you and your wife talked about the house clutter and how it is making you feel?

Why Does it Work with One Child and Not Another? - Blog Entry

05 Mar 2008 06:45 PM

I learned with my second child that what worked with the first wouldn't necessarily work second time round, though obviously some things remained the same and were not negotiable. My son is now finding the same with his two. See my blog http://christian.families.com/blog/are-you-prepared-to-say-no

Gypsy (1962) (1993) - Blog Entry

05 Mar 2008 06:35 PM

We only watched Gypsy the other week - the old version on DVD. I prefer the old movies where everything didn't need to be shown for viewers to know what was going on as seems to happen today. Also Rosalind Russsell played the pushy stage mother brilliantly. Shows how important parents are in helping shape children and the choices they make.

Family TV Programming is Still Popular - Blog Entry

04 Mar 2008 04:20 PM

Brought back memories. My family and I loved Little House on the Prairie. We've bought the DVDs when we see them and still love wtachingthem. We also watched the Cosby Show. The Gilmore Girls is another favorite in our family. We are still waiting for session 7 to come out on DVD here in Australia. Then we'll probably go back and watch them all through again. We were always selective about what our children got to watch when they were young.

The Importance of Playing with Your Child - Blog Entry

03 Mar 2008 09:06 PM

Couldn't agree more that as parents we need time playing with our children. It is something my husband and I did with each of ours. Time playing with our children is not wasted but relationship time. Our family are grown now but they remember those fun times. We still like to get together sometimes and go to the footy together, picnic or play games. Settlers of Catan is a favorite these days.
