What Your Nose Knows - Blog Entry

I often use the sense of smell when I conduct writing workshops for just that reason, that it so so evocative in bringing back memories. For example I cannot smelll Cashmere Bouquet talcum powder without thinking of my Mom. But lavender is not calming for everyone. It is a smell I can't cope with. Nothing induces a headache quicker than lavender and yet I love other floral scents.

Marriage Types: Young - Blog Entry

My husband and I married young because we fell in love and couldn't stand not being together. I never expected to marry young at all but I met him and, that as they say, was that. And I have never once regretted it.

Now, we're on the same page. I was a huge Elvis fan when young. Saw all his movies even though some of the later ones were forgetable. I still love to listen to his songs. I have a CD of his gospel songs that I play a lot. I remember the young Elvis. These days it's more likely to be George Clooney I think is pretty cool!

Share the Blessing - Blog Entry

What a lovely idea! Thanks for the tip. I think it's like that old hymn about 'count your blessings, name them one by one , ' and see what the Lord has done. I'd suggest it's a good exercise for each of us to do each week. I had an email from a friend from our old church this morning and that was a blessing. And the sun is shining outside. Like you say, it's not alway the material things.

My heart goes out to you ladies. I can only imagine how hard this must be. It's always had when those we love don't share our core values and beliefs. Keep praying and following the Lord. Who knows what He has in store and when.

No worries. I just thought I should clarify the confusion. I read the article not because it was part of the Fathers blog but because the title caught my eye. Apparently I was named after the heroine of a novel my mother was reading before I was born which she claimed was 'the loveliest story she had ever read.' I only wish I knew what the book was. She' s no longer alive to ask. If you're interested there's a larger photo of me on my website www.daleharcombe.com
