Interview with International Author, L.S. Keilbart - Blog Entry

To all interested parties: The next four books in the "ONE" series are currently at the illustrator. It is my goal and desire to have these books out by Christmas. All the books in this series will have the word "ONE" in its title some where..."One's Family Dinner". "Talented One", "One Can Make a Difference", "Some One Helps".

All for all those who may be interested, I do have a contribution chapter in Candace Salima and Elizabeth CHeever's book "Forged in the Refiner's Fire". I am commonly known as chapter 15 in there and I have written under my true identity.

Now if all of this news hasn't made you shout with glee then you'll be pleased to know that I am currently working on another book (non-fiction) for adults...specifically women. Most people know that my favorite soap box is women's self-esteem, so it is only natural that I should eventually write about it.

Be sure to stay tuned for more updates!!!

Suicide and the Gospel - Blog Entry

07 Apr 2006 03:07 PM

Alma 39:6 states "...yea and whosoever murdereth against the light and knowledge of God, it is not easy for him to obtain forgiveness; yes I say unto you, my son, that it is not easy for him to obtain a forgiveness."

Suicide is murder and as Candace has already pointed out the mental state of the person will definately be taken into consideration at the day of jusgement. Alma gives us hope that supports the statements made by general authorities that suicide can be forgiven. One who has been persuaded by satan and circumstance to take their own life are not in a mental state of balance. We, who have lost a loved one to suicide, need not give up hope on the state of the salvation.

We need to remain compassionate towards the ones that have been left behind and we need to do what we can do to help the one who committed the act of suicide repent. In other words, we need to give comfort to others and ease their pain so that the one who left will not have the burdeon of repenting for the long suffering og those left behind. Small acts of compassion can alleviate even years of sorrow.

I appreciate the attention (Honest!) and want to thank you for your entries. Writing is true release of emotions for me. Some people get mad and frustrated and they take it out on those around them, usuallyin a negative way. Writing allows me to have those feelings but express themin a more positive way.

Joy is some times hard to express also. Love can also be added to that hard to describe catagory, but when one uses the creativity of free associative writing then the whole world is your resource library and imagination can fly to heights unlimited.

Imagery is a wonderful tool to create a master piece with words. It is the creator's art with no right or wrong on how to proceed, for it comes from the heart, through the mind and scrolled by the hand. What a wonderful way to express that which is so deeply felt.

The Value of Family - Blog Entry

It is at times of extreme challenge that we know we can lean on. I worried so much for those hours you were spending in the hospital and wanted so very much to stay and let you rest and hold both of your hands and give comfort as you both have given me, but the 1/2 hour I spent with you two were all that I had to give. Prayers however were always carried in my heart.

I have learned from a very young age the importance of good friends and I have relied on these friends when my own flesh and blood seemed so far away. I have learned that good friends may not have my same skin color or beliefs, but that we can be just as close as if we had been born into one family. They are there to lift me and I to lift them.

Candace has suffered through all of these things with me and has always, ALWAYS, been a sister to me. She is "the wind beneath my wings" and Alvin "my guiding star". It is with great love that I write this entry, for it is they that are at the center of my thoughts this evening.

LDS Families: A Decaying Zion - Blog Entry

As a convert to the church in a rural area of the US, I learned to do business with members because I was taught that they hold a higher value and standard than the average American does (I still believe this too). I still live outside of "Mormonville" and still try to do business with members. I have also learned to use the Spirit of Discernment in these matters as all members of the church are not equal. I would be surprised if a large percentage of the church followed this path of Sunday Mormonism in their business lives. If at any time in our lives we need to hold the standard high it is in the world. We need to act well our part to a more precise exactness when we interact with others for we never know if we are entertaining angels or not.

Literacy and it's Purpose in the LDS Family - Blog Entry

I have never known Candace not to read. She would read four to five books a week in high school! Her determination to help with illiteracy is genuine. The reality though in life is that children are no longer taught to take time to read. If they do read, many of the things that are available to them in public libraries are tainted with immorality and worldly knowledge not needed for our lives and communities. Candace writes from her heart and her mind. Her values are forever formost in her thoughts as she pieces together the details of what ever project she is involved with. Her amazing skills of research and documentation are definately on a professional level. She puts so much effort into her work that she becomes a part of it. She leaves clues as to her true identity on the pages that she writes. Her diversity in writing (as attested to the difference between "Out of the Shadows...Into the Light" and "BYU 13 and 0") is not so different when you take into account that she wants all people everywhere to increase their knowledge and reading skills. What better way to do that than by writing those tings which will appeal to a wide berth of people. Touching lives and helping people progress is what we are here for, as we work out our own Salvation. Candace takes this literally also. She has taken on emotional wars and struggles because of the state of the nation and still finds time to be there for each and every individual who needs her. She is a missionary, a defender of truth and right, and an influence for good where ever she goes and this is the very root of her being. I would recommend any of her books in a heart beat.
