Do you have a passion for a Families.com Forums subject, and enjoy participating in the discussions on our forums? You could become a Forum Moderator!
Moderators are volunteers who participate actively in our forums, keeping track of our discussions. They keep the flow of conversation going by energizing the discussion, and reporting any inappropriate activity. They are the mainstay of keeping the forums at Families.com safe, interesting, and informative.
If you have ever participated on a forum and had your conversation interrupted by a “troll” who attempts to sell you something, or who is abusive or “hijacks” the thread by constantly diverting the discussion to their own ends, you know how quickly these people can turn off a great conversation. Our Moderators help us make Families.com something truly rare on the internet, a forum where people of different backgrounds have very interesting discussions without vulgar language, explicit material, or harassment. We are safe, clean, and family friendly. Moderators enjoy their own private forum, the title of “Moderator” and of course, our undying gratitude here at Families.com.
To be considered for a moderator position, you must be a regular contributor to our forums, and not be shy about asking questions of the Forums Manager or reporting anything you have a doubt about. You do not need to intervene directly with difficult posts, just report them. You can report inappropriate activity by clicking the little triangle at the top of each post. All members of our community are important, but if you would like to take a more active role in our community then this very important position is for you.
