18 Oct 2006 07:44 PM Give yourself a "happy boost"! Part 5Pamper your skin Your skin is your largest organ--and, with millions of oh-so-senstive nerve endings, the one with the most potential for pleasure. So indulge in loving caress, slip on a sensuously soft scarf or linger in a wann bubble bath and soak up good feelings. This a good thing for all of use to hear every now and then we all want to feel like we are being pampered. Indulge in a massage. Rubdowns feel good and may help boost your immune stystem and lower your heart rate. If a professional massage isn't in your budget, trade back rubs with your mate. Pick up an introductory video (try Complete Massage, $15: www.amazon.com ) or save for a couple's massage from a pro and ask how to do it at home. Give--and get--a hug. Everyone knows a warm embrace is wounderful, but one study showed it can also keep your heart healthier, lower stress levels and deepen your emotional bond with the person you are hugging--which will lead to more hugs! Buy feel-good fabrics. It's hard to feel bad when you're surrounded by luxrious materials. Treat yourself to one great item--slip into a bed made up with the softest 300-thread count cotton sheets, or splurge on 600-thread count linens. How about warming your toes with cashmere socks (find some at wwwcashmeresocks.com for $33 to $55 a pair) or wrapping yourself up for a warm winter nap in a decandent faux-fur throw? You'll think twice before buying scratchy stuff again. This is really good for us women now we have a reason to tell our husbands when we spend a little more money on a set of sheets.
