Old-Fashioned Chili

Enjoy this wonderful recipe for those cold days to come. Chili is one of the family's favorite. 2 Tablespoons olive oil, 1 onion, chopped, 2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 pound ground beef, Salt and pepper, 1 (28 oz.) can chopped tomatoes, with liquid, 1 (19 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained, Cheese jalapenp chilis, onions and sour cream.

   In a large skillet, warm oil over medium-high heat. Add onion and chili powder. Cook, stirring often, until softened, 3to5 minutes. Add beef, salt and pepper and cook, stirring, until crumbly and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Transfer contents of skillet to a slow cooker.

   Add tomatoes and beans. Stir well, cover and cook on low for 8 hours. top chili with condiments such as shredded cheese, sliced jalapenos, diced onions and sour cream. *I don't like jalapenos, my kids can't eat them so i leave them out. If you don't like them then you can replace them with your favorite pepper.*
