Peanut Bars

     

11/2 cup all-purpose flour                  3 cups miniature marshmallows

2/3 cups brown sugar                        2/3 cups corn syrup

1/2 tsp baking powder                       1/4 cup margarine

1/4 teaspoon baking soda                  2 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup margarine                             1 pkg (10 oz) peanut butter chips

1 teaspoon vanilla                              2 cups rice Krispies

2 egg yolks                                        2 cups salted peanuts

Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, margarine, vanilla and egg yolks.  Press firmly in ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove crust from oven.  Sprinkle with marshmallows and return to oven for 1 to 2 minutes until they just begin to puff.  Remove from oven and cook while preparing topping.  Combine corn syrup, margarine, vanilla and peanut butter chips.  Krispies and melted smooth.  Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies and peanuts.  Spread mixture over marshmallows and set in refrigerator to cool.
