The Different Needz Foundation

On September 14, 2009, the Different Needz Foundation held the 1st Annual Luke Jordan Memorial Golf Outing and Silent Auction. Ninety-nine golfers participated in the scramble. After the golf portion of the event, approximately 150 people enjoyed a catered reception and silent auction. The Foundation is proud to announce that their $10K goal was exceeded by 150%.

Donations or registration for the Luke Jordan Memorial Golf Outing can be made on the site. Help the Foundation raise money to help special needs individuals, families and the organizations that support them.

Luke Jordan Memorial Golf Outing

The Different Needz Foundation is having the 1st Annual Luke Jordan Memorial Golf Outing on September 14, 2009 at Tanglewood National Country Club in Bainbridge, Ohio. The Different Needz Foundation is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the special needs community.

Death of a child

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. It has now been 18 months since Luke passed away. Life is different. My wife is stuck in sadness and I am stuck in anger.

Death of a child

After a six and a half year struggle with a body that just would not work right, a second battle with pneumonia and a nasty virus, the toughest kid I know earned his wings last week.

Looking for an Aspirator (sp?)

My son just spent 5 days in the hospital with aspirational pneumonia. He is cp, non-mobile, spastic quadriplegic, etc..... had flu like symptoms coming out of both ends like no tomorrow.

Arts for Us

A friend of mine (my wife, mostly) is a musician. Her son and my son were born with microcephally. For about a year, she has put together a music program, now called Arts for Us.

When "Nothing" is Good

Over the past month Nothing has happened , but normal everyday life. Following the routine that gets you to the next day, becomes comforting when there are no interruptions.

PottyTraining

My 6 yr old son, microcephally, nonverbal, nonmobile, gtube, siezures, etc....... has started to potty train.

Planning

It is good to hear the success stories. We have not, nor will not stop fighting for my son. He is just starting to communicate, which is huge. Reaching for the stars is all that we do.
