Is bleeding a sign of labor? Even if you have no contractions & your water didn’t break? Is it something to be worried about???September 3, 2006 at 8:00 pm #564106
# Preterm labor. Light bleeding from 20 to 37 weeks may indicate preterm labor, especially when accompanied by pelvic or abdominal pressure, dull backache, abdominal cramps or uterine contractions. If you have any signs or symptoms of labor before 36 weeks, call your health care provider right away.
# A sign of labor (bloody show). During pregnancy, a thick plug of mucus seals the opening of the cervix to prevent bacteria and other germs from entering the uterus. As your body prepares for labor, the cervix begins to thin out and relax, and the mucous plug is dislodged. When this happens, you may notice a thick or stringy discharge that may be tinged with blood. Known as the bloody show, this is a normal sign of labor that may occur up to a week or two before delivery day.
Vaginal bleeding may be a sign of labor. Up to a few weeks before labor begins, the mucus plug may pass. This is normally made up of a small amount of mucus and blood. If it occurs earlier, you could be entering preterm labor and should see your physician immediately.
Signs of Preterm Labor include these symptoms that occur before the 37th week of pregnancy:
* Vaginal discharge (watery, mucus, or bloody)
* Pelvic or lower abdominal pressure
* Low, dull backache
* Stomach cramps, with or without diarrhea
* Regular contractions or uterine tightening
Yep…could be.September 3, 2006 at 8:17 pm #564107
I started to get cramps and spotting 3 days before I gave birth…then I lost my muscous plug 2 days before… so it could be possible that you are going to go into labor anytime soon. After all your also carrying 2 babies and twins come out sooner then singletons.September 3, 2006 at 8:33 pm #564111

Okay ladies – I decided it was best for me & the girls if I go to the hospital & get things checked out.
I may be back later – like tomorrow. Or I may not be back for a couple of days.
Wish me luck!
