20 Ways to save $1 or More Today

What would you do with an extra $365 dollars? That is how much you’ll have at the end of the year if you just save $1 a day, $7 a week or $30 a month. It really does add up doesn’t it? Make it a goal to save $1 a day. Here are 50 easy ways to save $1, or more, today.

1. Sign up for free samples and free product coupons instead of buying snacks. I recently have gotten Bare Naked Granola, half a dozen free candy bars, free Honey Nut Cherrios cereal, free fruit leather and more (see FreeCoupons.com for opportunities).

2. Switch from 1 can of soda to water

3. Sign up for three free yearly magazine subscriptions instead of buying them or read magazines at the library.

4. Bring leftovers in to work for lunch.

5. Take a movie out of the library instead of the video store or use a Redbox code to get the $1 fee waived.

6. Hang dry two loads of laundry instead of using your dryer.

7. Make your own cookies, muffin or bread instead of buying it.

8. Shop at a thrift store or yard sale instead of a retail store.

9. Use your crockpot instead of your oven.

10. Make a homemade card instead of buying one.

11. Walk to the local store instead of driving to it.

12. Take the change out of your wallet or purse and save it instead of spending it.

13. Read the newspaper online. If you want the coupons, print them out online, too (Again, FreeCoupons.com is a great source.)

14. Buy your snacks in bulk and bring them to work instead of buying them from a vending machine.

15. Refill a water bottle instead of buying water.

16. Sweep your home instead of using the vacuum.

17. Rake leaves the old fashioned way with a rake instead of a leaf blower.

18. Plan out your errands and combine trips to save gas.

19. Stretch hamburger or meat loaf by adding in stuffing mix, bread crumbs or oatmeal.

20. Make pizza at home from scratch.
