Well, it’s that time of year already. Time to get organized for the new year. In the past I have used a Covey planner and other years I have just relied on my large calendar hanging in my kitchen. This year I am going to try something new: The 2006 Simple Scrapbooks Weekly Planner.
This is so well organized for scrapbookers! There are sections of monthly calendars where each two page spread covers one month. This is great for writing in all of the important dates each month so they can be seen at a glance for the upcoming month. There are also weekly calendars organized neatly behind tabs for each month. Each space in the weekly calendar gives me enough space to jot down the activities for the day.
My favorite part of the planner is found on each the weekly planning pages. There is a box with “ideas for the week” that sound creative and fun. The first item each week is a suggestion of something to photograph. A couple of examples from the planner are: “Take Pictures of shoes!” and “Photograph your family member with their security objects.” The second idea for the week is something that you can do for yourself or someone else. A couple of my favorites are: “Leave a friendly note on a friend’s door or car” and “Plan a date night with one of your kids.” The third idea each week involves creating something and enjoying the world around you. Sometimes it lists a scrapbook layout idea, but there give a variety of great ideas that I am looking forward to doing. Also almost every page in this planner has a great quote.
At the end of each monthly section, there is a page for sketches and notes. This will be nice because I will have my planner with me while I’m out and can jot down an idea when it comes to me. There are also several vellum pockets for collecting memorabilia throughout the year. Also included is a pull out address book.
