A Busy Guy

My son is a busy guy. His day begins when ever he wakes up (like most kids) usually around eight in the morning. Sometimes he will climb into our bed with some toys and play which always involves playing with his baby sister. Rousing us (the parents) at eight in the morning is sometimes difficult given how late we end up going to bed, but he does a fairly good job by climbing on us and typically putting his feet, knees, elbows, or hands in our faces. Now that he is potty trained, he will need to use the potty at some point in the morning. He usually puts it off until he really has to go whereby he starts hopping around and saying, “I have to pee, I have to pee, I have to pee.” After going to the bathroom he will go downstairs (occasionally he goes down before to get toys) with us following. We start breakfast while he finds something to do like play outside on our tiny deck. He is fairly hungry upon waking (I am usually starving) and is very pleased when he is handed a plate of eggs and toast. Breakfast holds his attention for about five minutes at which point he is off racing around the house with a dump truck or musical instrument. We will listen to music and he will dance like a crazy man. Dancing does not tire him out. Next he is off to jumping on the sofa and making his baby sister laugh; he loves to entertain her. He has recently began an obsession with washing his hands. I find him at the sink countless time in the course of the day washing his hands and playing in the water (he even tries to wash the dishes in the kitchen sink).
