A Layout of Nicknames

As most parents, when my children were born, I was constantly giving them little nicknames. It seems that when they are babies, you can’t help but want to give them all kinds of cute names that you think of when you look at them. One of my favorite layouts that I ever did was a scrapbook page about all of the nicknames my daughter had. It was a lot of fun.

The title of the layout was, “It’s official. She is my Bug”. Bug was what I called her most of the time, but I also had lots of other nicknames for her as well. They were:

*Snugglebug

*”The Girl”

*Munchkin

*Little Burrito (When she was all wrapped up in her swaddling blanket she always reminded me of a burrito)

*Sweet Pea

We all have endless nicknames for our children. Why not scrap those nicknames so that you don’t forget them?

At the top of the page, I had a little cloud that I wrote, “She’s had lots of nicknames, but….” Then, off to the left of the photograph I wrote the title.

On the right of the photograph, I wrote all her nicknames on strips of paper. I drew a border around each strip of paper to give it some added dimension. I wanted the main nickname that she got stuck with (and that I still call her to this day, even though she is 4 years old) to stand out the most. So, I chose alphabet thickers that were large, so that was the first thing that you see.

Although this layout had a long title, it still worked. If you play around mixing and matching different alphabet stickers, you’d be amazed at how many words that you can fit onto a page. The key is doing it so that the things that you want to stand out will, while the not so important is smaller and takes a back seat.

This kind of scrapbook page is perfect for a baby’s album. What are some of the nicknames you have for your little ones?
