A Monthly Baby Layout

Some of my most precious pages that I have scrapbooked are of my children. I want to do an album of each of my kids’ first year of life to give to them one day. In those albums, I like to do a monthly layout about my child and what they are doing at that time. I always title the page, with the month that I am scrapbooking. For example, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, etc.

One of my all-time favorite layouts was one I did of my daughter when she was 9 months old.

I do not always have a photo of my child on that exact day of the month, but I try to choose a photo that is as close to the day that they would have turned 9 months, or whatever age I am scrapping. The challenge for these pages is trying to pick just a few photos that represent the child at that point in their life.

Another key to making this page meaningful is through the journaling. I like to journal about what they are doing at the time. For example, on your journaling tag, you can write things like:

At 9 Months you…

*Cut two new teeth
*Wave hi and bye
*Are shy with strangers
*Laugh a lot
*Love looking at books
*Are pulling up on furniture
*Love Elmo
*Like to play peek-a-boo
*Are into EVERYTHING
*Keep Mommy on her toes

The beauty of doing this type of journaling is so that you never forget. This is one of the reasons why I scrapbook. Doing this type of journaling will also help you remember at what stage your babies do things when you are asked by your kids, or when you are ready to have another baby. But, most importantly these pages can help you remember what your child was like during that stage of life. They grow so fast, so looking back, these pages will surely become your most treasured.
