Altered Audrey Picture Frame

It is a fun idea to put some of your scrapbook supplies to work and create some home décor. I just altered a picture frame with some scrapbook supplies that my daughter can use to decorate her room.

The supplies that were used are: patterned paper from Polar Bear Press; petals, chipboard letters, brads and paint from Making Memories; and a picture frame that I found at a dollar store. I recommend buying a frame that has a flat surface with straight sides.

Here are the steps for putting the altered picture frame together.

1. Turn the picture frame with the front side facing down onto the back of the paper that will cover the front of the frame.

2. Trace the shape of the frame onto the paper.

3. Cut the patterned paper on the lines that you drew.

4. Paint the outside and inside edges of the frame with acrylic paint.

5. Paint the chipboard letters and brads with the same color that you painted the edges of the frame.

6. Run the patterned paper for the front of the frame through the Xyron machine to apply adhesive to the
entire back of the paper.

7. Attach the paper to the frame. Start at the top and gently rub the paper onto the frame. Make sure
the paper is straight because it will not come back up to reposition if you use the Xyron permanent adhesive.

8. Cut a rectangle slightly wider than the frame and about an inch high. Then cut a slightly larger rectangle and mat the smaller piece onto the larger one.

9. Attach the rectangles to the bottom of the frame with glue dots to give some dimension to the frame.

10. Place painted brads in the center of each of the petals and use glue dots to attach them to the frame.

11. Run the chipboard letter through the Xyron machine and attach to the frame.

Enjoy!
