Birth of J.Lo’s Twins Stirs Rumor Mill

They are not even a month old yet and all ready the spawns of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are creating quite a buzz in Hollywood (or at least among competing tabloids).

Since the birth of twins Max and Emme the Internet has been brimming with stories regarding their looks, whereabouts and mannerisms. All of which should be straightened out when People magazine publishes an upcoming spread on the popular singers and their new offspring. (No word on the exact release date.)

Since People secured the rights to the babies’ photos the rumor mill has been churning out some fantastic tales like this one:

Last week TMZ.com reported that not only had Lopez sold her baby pics to People magazine for a jaw dropping $6 million, but she also got editors to agree to stop calling her J.Lo!

TMZ also said the control-freak new mother instructed the people at People that her hubby had to be the one to shoot the photos.

According to People there’s no truth to any of those rumors.

Okay, so TMZ.com is not exactly TIME.com, but you’d think that the Chicago-Sun Times would have reliable sources and as a reputable newspaper would only print facts after checking them, right?

Think again.

According to a recent report in the Chicago newspaper, Lopez and Anthony were so paranoid that their little bundles of joy would be the center of a kidnapping plot that they has hired six new bodyguards to protect the twins around the clock — to the tune of $600,000 per year. Additionally, the paper claimed the singers installed closed-circuit cameras in nearly every room in all of their homes.

It sounded plausible to me, but according to Lopez’s rep the story is untrue. Actually, the rep’s exact verbiage was more like: “This story is ridiculous and without merit.” The rep also added that her boss already has a security team in place and they will be the ones watching over the twins.

WHEW! Glad that’s cleared up. Six-hundred-thousand-dollars a year for security! I was about to look into becoming a bodyguard.
