Blogsy for iPad

Sometimes there is no time to waste and you need to blog from on the go. I do not always carry laptop but I do find carrying around an iPad to be quite convenient. Blogging from your iPad is made easy with Blogsy. As a blogger who blogs on Blogger, self-hosted WordPress, and WordPress, this app is the perfect tool and one stop shop for blogging.

Features:

Drag and Drop:

You can drag and drop images from Flickr, Picasa, and your iPad photo library right into your post. Do you want a YouTube video embedded in your post? No problem, YouTube videos can be dragged and dropped right from the app as well. You can easily access the web from the app so you can look up information and drag and drop sites and links. Dragging and dropping has never been so much. In fact, I find it easier to use then linking and adding pictures from your own blog interface

Text Formatting:

You can align text, bold, italicize, use bullet points, used a numbered list, or use header text and indent paragraphs, with a touch! No HTML required. Easy to manipulate, change, and arrange as you wish.

Supported Blog Platforms:

Blogsy supports Blogger, WordPress, self-hosted WordPress, TypePad, Moveable Type, Tumblr, and more! There is no limit on the amount of blogs you can use on Blogsy.

Email:

You can also easily email rich text emails of your posts directly from the app as well. If you send a post to Mail Chimp it will go to all your subscribers. If you simply want to send a rich text email to family and friends it can do that as well. It supports email to post in case you blog on a platform not associated with Blogsy.

The Good and The Bad

The Good

It is easier to use then your blogging platform. If you use multiple platforms you can create posts for all from the same place in one easy move. Blogsy is easy to use and dare I say fun! You may not want to do all your blogging through an app but for those times it is more convenient to be on the go you will love it. I have used it even when I could have used my computer. The app is worth the $2.99 I paid for it.

The Bad

No autosave! If the app crashes, your information is lost. If you accidentally hit “new post” your information is lost. There is no recovery and no going back. I would have paid more for Blogsy if it had a save feature. The app is not intended to back up your blog or store information. However, I would love to suggest an autosave until the post is sent off? Is that even possible? Perhaps not.

Overall:

My favorite blogging app! I love it despite losing a post I spent time on…which was user error as I hit the button for “new post” instead of the button to publish the post on my site.
