Budget Recipes – Tasty Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

grilled cheese Budget Recipes are designed to make meal planning fit into your budget. If you pay attention to what is on sale at the grocery store, you can create an inexpensive, (and delicious), meal for your family to enjoy. Tasty Grilled Cheese sandwiches, with a few additional ingredients, are something that everyone can enjoy.

If you have a large family, then you have to plan out meals that will include enough food to feed everyone. Sometimes, though, when schedules get hectic, it isn’t easy to know for sure exactly how many people will be available to eat lunch or dinner together.

This is the perfect time to plan on making some Tasty Grilled Cheese sandwiches. If someone comes home from work early, or if soccer practice gets rained out, it is easy to quickly make another portion of this meal. It also works when just one or two people are dining together.

I noticed that Ralphs has San Francisco Style Sourdough Squares loaves of bread, that are baked right in the store, on sale for $1.77 right now. Packages of 15 count (or slices) of Ralphs Singles cheese are $1.99. 16 ounce packages of Ralphs butter (salted or unsalted) are $3.49.

That is really all you need to make a classic grilled cheese sandwich. However, if you want to add a little something to it, Roma Tomatoes are $0.99 a pound. Packages of 12 to 16 ounce Oscar Mayer Bacon are $4.99 each. As always, you need to use your Ralphs savings card in order to get the sale prices for these items.

I found a very concise recipe for grilled cheese sandwiches on All Recipes.com. You probably know how to make one. What makes a regular grilled cheese sandwich into a tasty grilled cheese sandwich is the quality of the bread, and the extra added ingredients.

You Will Need:

Slices of Sourdough bread (or your favorite kind)

Slices of cheese (Whichever kind you like best)

Butter

Sliced tomatoes

Bacon

What You Will Need to Do:

Step One: Fry up the bacon. When it is done, set it onto paper towels, and blot off as much of the grease as you can. You don’t want the extra grease making it onto your grilled cheese sandwiches!

Step Two: Wash the tomatoes. Slice them. Don’t make the slices too thick

Step Three: Preheat a skillet on the stove.

Step Four: Butter the slices of bread, and place the butter side down onto the skillet. Put a slice of cheese on top of the bread. If you don’t want to add anything, then put the other slice of bread, butter side up, on top.

Step Five: Or, add a few slices of tomato, and some slices of bacon, before you add the top bread slice.
Flip the sandwiches over, carefully, so as not to “drop” the tomato or bacon out of the sandwiches. When the sandwich is nicely grilled, it is time to serve it!
