When you think honey do you of sweet treats like honey buns? Honey is a natural sweetener used for baking, in teas, and a variety of fun candy and treats. My daughter loves to eat honey candy and even suck the honey out of those honey sticks. You can get honey sticks in a variety of flavors. Lately we hear about the amazing health benefits of honey that make that sweetener just a bit sweeter. However, would it surprise you to know that the consumption of honey can aid in weight loss? It is at least worth exploring the possibility, right?
All sweeteners were not created equal. Refined sugar utilizes vitamins and minerals for digestion leaving the body devoid of such vitamins and minerals. This is why refined sugar is often referred to as empty calories. The nutrients that are used up to aid in the digestion of refined sugar are essential to dissolving cholesterol and fat. So, you gain weight from not only the calories in sugar but the lack of nutrients it causes your body. Unlike sugar, honey contains vitamins and minerals and therefore will not steal those substances from your body to aid in digestion. This allows the body to work properly so you can maintain a healthier weight. Honey is actually good for your digestion which also helps with weight loss. It has been suggested that honey mobilizes unused fat resources in your body which will also aid in reducing obesity.
Here are a few simple recipes that some believe help in the area of weight loss. While, I cannot personally attest to these recipes, many say they have seen results. I have seen amazing results using honey as a natural remedy.
