Celebrate Your Friends

There are so many things that we do with friends: go out to dinner, hang out at one of our houses, visit on the phone or meet up at the park. But if you are like me, you may not be documenting these important people in your life.

What are some things that you might was to capture and remember about your friendships right now at this time in your life?

I’ve thought up a few ways that we can include and remember our friends when we are creating scrapbook layouts and projects. I’d like to share them with you.

Long distance friends. Most of my friends live close to me, but a few of them have moved away and we only communicate on the phone and through email. A fun way to document the things going on in your life and your long distance friends could be to include a copy of your email along with any photos they may send. You could collect the emails in an envelope or pocket on your layout on place one on each layout so that you can read it as you flip through the book. Be sure to record your feelings about your long distance friends and maybe even reminisce about things that you used to do together when you lived closer to each other.

Close to home friends. I challenge you to take your camera with you the next time you go out with your friends and take some pictures. It doesn’t matter what you are doing, you will be celebrating a special relationship.

You could also take this same approach for your children and document their friendships through photos and journaling.

You could make a friend album where you feature one friend on each layout with a photo and journal about what makes him or her special to you. This could be an album that continues to grow as you gain new friends.

Take time to appreciate all those things that your friends do for you and the things that you enjoy doing together. I’m sure that you will love the results.
