Celebrities and Valentine’s Day

Do you have a date for Valentine’s Day? If not, you’re not alone. In fact, some of Hollywood’s biggest names recently revealed that they have no plans to celebrate Love Day tomorrow.

For example, The Office star Jenna Fisher dished that she won’t be sipping champagne and munching on truffles tomorrow. Rather, the actress says she will be attending her friend’s daughter’s bat mitzvah.

Grammy-winning singer Duffy admits that she won’t be celebrating Valentine’s Day with the traditional romantic dinner and sweet sounding cards. Instead, the songstress says she plans to spend the night serenading “beautiful men”… in a gay bar. The paid gig is something Duffy says she committed to months ago and she doesn’t plan to cancel now.

Desperate Housewives’ star Teri Hatcher, who happens to be a single mom, says she is considering making her own holiday.

“I’m thinking of throwing a Single Awareness party for all of my friends. No, I’m not doing that. I’m kidding,” the actress joked to reporters. “What are my plans right now? Making Valentines for my daughter’s school, and probably putting together little things for her. I don’t have any plans.”

Finally, President Barack Obama reportedly took extra care to ensure that his girls’ (wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha) first Valentine’s Day in the White House was a special one.

According to reports, the new president ordered the Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake from Bake Me a Wish to share with his family on Valentine’s Day. The New York-based bakery describes the confection as a “moist and fudgy brownie cake … enrobed in rich chocolate, then … completely blanketed with a shower of dark chocolate shaves.”

Rumor has it that the brownie cake is not the only goodie the Obama’s will be sharing tomorrow. Celebrity chef Paula Deen reportedly sent boxes of treats for the First Family to enjoy with the hopes of someday making more for them in person.
