Choosing a Scrapbook Tote

Choosing a scrapbook tote can be quite a challenge with all the great options available. I think that when you are looking for a large tote, finding one with wheels is almost a must.

A few things to consider when trying to decide on your scrapbooking tote are:

Where do you plan to take the tote?

Crops, Classes or Friend’s houses are typically where people want to cart their supplies to, but if you are looking for one that can travel on trips and vacations with you, consideration is necessary for carry-on luggage requirements and trunk space in your car. Keep in mind that you don’t have to take ALL of your supplies with you when you go anywhere, and that less is more.

What do you plan to bring with you?

If you scrapbook 12×12 size layouts, it’s important to look for a tote that can accommodate papers and albums in that size. Also if you are a tool person and have lots of tools you cannot leave at home, it’s important to look for a tote with lots of space and pockets. Preparation ahead of time, of simple page kits, will make toting these necessities much easier.

What colors does it come in and are there coordinating pieces to go with it?

Okay, so this one might not be quite as important to some, but choosing your color options can be something a scrapbooker might be considering. Totes come in various sizes and colors, but they aren’t all made the same. Also, being able to find coordinating pieces in smaller sizes might to hold different supplies might also be important too. Looking at an entire line of products should be considered before making the final selection and purchase.

As a pretty dedicated scrapbooker, I’ve definitely gone through my fair share of scrapbooking totes. Here are a few of my favorite’s:

The Mimi Large Wheeled Tote

ArtBin Mega Tote

The Crop in Style XXL

Crop in Style NaNavigator

The Making Memories Runway Roller

No matter which tote you choose, be sure to spend time shopping around for the best value. In addition, try them out if you can. It’s a lot of money to spend on something that might not work for you.
