Minted.com did an amazing job with my family’s Christmas photo cards. I had been searching for a card format that would allow for multiple images to be featured around some seasonal text, similar to a scrapbook layout, and the website delivered.
Holiday photo cards have come a long way since double sided tape was used to adhere a standard snapshot to the inside of a traditional greeting card. These days you can create elaborate multi-page cards, which feature two to three images on each page. I can’t wait until someone comes up with a way to convert digital scrapbook layouts into Christmas cards.
Finding festive and free Christmas scrapbook page backgrounds online is a cinch. There are hundreds of sites that offer seasonal paper, embellishments, and page kits that will turn ordinary photos into incredible Christmas-themed masterpieces.
For example, FreeDigitalScrapbooking.com offers a variety of downloadable background papers for your Christmas layouts. Some of the most popular include wreaths, holly leaves, bows, classic Christmas colors, as well as pretty snowflake paper that could be used for Hanukkah, Christmas or New Year’s layouts.
I also like the free Christmas background offered by Blush Butter. It looks like an elaborately wrapped gift and provides great spaces for photos. Shabby Princess also has a sensational seasonal scrapbooking kit, which features festive background papers, bows, brads, and Christmas tree clip art.
If you don’t want to download the Christmas offerings at the aforementioned sites, you could consider making your own holiday digital scrapbooking backgrounds. An easy option is to repeat words and phrases such as “Seasons Greetings,” “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Holidays” across a basic background to make your own patterned paper. Another option is to use free Christmas clip art and place it strategically at the bottom or around the sides of a solid background for a festive touch.
