Christmas in July
How many of you still have photos from last Christmas sitting in a pile or still on your computer waiting to be printed? Now would be a great time to pull those photos out and enjoy the memories associated with this memorable time of year.
I just decided to scrapbook a few of my photos from Christmas last year. If you already did a layout with last year’s photos, you could look back to an earlier holiday season. Or you could choose just one of your favorite photos from last Christmas to use on a layout and journal about why that photo is meaningful to you.
Why scrapbook holiday photos now? Well, first of all, I don’t think that we need to scrapbook in chronological order. If it looks like fun to scrapbook a set of photos, then I think you should do it. Don’t worry about being “caught up” before scrapbooking certain pictures. What fun would it be to be caught up anyway?
Here is the Christmas layout I just completed. It organization of the photos and journaling is based on a Becky Higgin’s sketch.
On this layout I wanted to include many photos since I felt that this group of photos really helped tell our Christmas story. I also decided to include our family’s Christmas card on the layout. I luckily had two extra cards, so I could use them to display the front and back of the card. I liked that the text on the card gave a summary of our year while the journaling I printed onto the patterned paper shared some of our family’s highlights from the Christmas season.
All of the paper used on this layout is from Basic Grey’s Blitzen collection, except for the Christmas card. It is so nice to use paper from a coordinating kit because it helps the layout come together quickly and it has a unified look because all of the colors are the same in the different patterned papers.
So pull out some Christmas photos and enjoy reliving the memories of this magical time of year,
