In a previous blog I provided tips on how to get ready for personal red carpet moments. (Not the ones that are televised; rather the moments in life when we want to look our best–weddings, prom, etc.) After I posted the blog I wondered if anyone out there had actually attended a televised red carpet event. Was it possible that I overlooked the remote possibility that a person reading my blog could have actually stepped foot on a real red carpet, surrounded by paparazzi, and masses of cheering onlookers? So far no one has come forward. Which brings me to the topic of this blog—–how to create your own red carpet moment.
Brace yourself because if you love getting dolled up and having the spotlight shine squarely on you then I have great news. Thanks to a generous actress you can pay for the chance to walk on Oscar’s red carpet. Jennifer Love Hewitt is auctioning off two tickets to next year’s Academy Awards show and her exclusive after-party—plus a four-night stay in the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons among other goodies. The money raised will go to support children’s theatre programming.
If the Academy Awards show is not where you want to debut your new red carpet look, consider bidding on a lower-key moment. Ellen DeGeneres is auctioning off two VIP tickets to her show in Los Angeles plus airfare. Proceeds from those tickets will benefit the Faulkner Breast Cancer Center.
Finally, if that event doesn’t call for enough primping you may want to fork over enough dough to appear as an extra on ABC’s “Ugly Betty!” The part is being auctioned off along with a five-day stay at The Park Hyatt in Los Angeles. To place your bid on any of the items listed above click here.
By the way, if you’ve had an opportunity to walk down the red carpet during a televised awards show, I’d love to hear from you.
