Creative Idea: Utensil Drawer Organizer

A utensil drawer organizer is an unassuming little tool. It is made with enough slots for spoons, forks, knives and a few gadgets. We all have one in your utensil drawer. How could we function without this little organization tool? While, I am far from the queen of organization, I seek it like Captain Ahab sought Moby Dick. Wearing the crown for cheapness (frugal is a term for those creative in their cheapness while I am simply cheap), I seek inexpensive ways to keep organized. I will use a nice sturdy box over purchasing a plastic tote if possible. So, it was no surprise my mind raced with I found plastic utensil drawer organizers on sale. I had to purchase one for my utensil drawer but at the price I tried to see I could use this tool in place of some other organization tools on my list. Have you noticed just how expensive plastic organization boxes and items are? I may go back and buy a few more after brainstorming some ideas.

Ideas for Using a Utensil Drawer Organizer

Crafts: With the generous size in slots this makes a great way to store pipe cleaners, pom poms, craft sticks and such. You can store it or fill it up for organization while working on a craft.

Art Supplies: A great way to keep your table organized when you bring out crayons, markers, child scissors, glue sticks and all the fun stuff for an afternoon of art.

Dolls: The utensil drawer organizer I purchased has one very long slot alongside three shorter slots and finally one short slot on the bottom horizontally positioned. The longest slot will fit a Barbie doll while the three alongside it are perfect for Barbie’s clothing. The smallest slot is great for shoes and accessories.

Small Toys: Do you have a ton of tiny toys all over the place? Have your little one organize them by type, size, or using their own imagination into those slots. Your child may want to store hot wheels and other car toys or Polly Pockets, Squinkies, or any of the fun toys they have on the floor.
