I’ve always been a fan of “new customer” offers. You can usually get a great deal the first time you purchase something at a new-to-you retailer if they are running a promotion. One of my favorite new customer offers comes from Diapers.com, which is giving new customers $10 off their order of $49 or more. Considering a big box of diapers retails for around $42, all you have to do is order a big box, a few other small items and your smaller items are essentially free. When I used this code, I ordered a new shirt for my son. In addition to $10 off your order, you get free 1-2 day shipping. There are various codes offered through different magazines and websites for this offer. The one I found was featured in an ad in Baby Talk magazine. The code is BTAUG10 and expires on January 31st, 2011.
20% Off One Baby Item at Babies R Us:
This virtually ongoing offer makes signing up for the Babies R Us mailer worth it. Every month I receive a sale catalog and it usually has a coupon for 20% off any one baby item (there are a few exclusions). When we were baby proofing our house, I purchased one baby gate at a time using these coupons until I had enough. Baby gates are expensive and the coupons saved us a ton of money. I also used one to purchase a stroller while it was on sale and got a killer deal. Each one is usually valid for about a month and sometimes they overlap by a week or so. If I don’t plan on using mine, I’ll offer it to a fellow Babies R Us shopper, especially new moms who are still collecting and purchasing baby gear.
20% Off Birth Announcements and Free Addressing and Mailing Services at Hallmark:
This is another deal I found in Baby Talk magazine. Hallmark is offering a coupon code for 20% off your order of birth announcements, plus free addressing and mailing services. Basically, the mailing service allows you to upload all your contacts and Hallmark will address all the envelopes, stamp them and mail them for you. (You still have to pay for the stamps, obviously.) Place your order and enter the code, BABYTALK20, at checkout. This is a great way to throw together birth announcements very quickly, since all you need is a favorite picture of your newborn.
