“Dancing with the Stars” Update: Julianne the Virgin and Mario Hits Broadway

Despite her having not one, but two, disco ball trophies and making the rounds on just about every talk show known to man “Dancing with the Stars’” resident hottie Julianne Hough adamantly denies that she has “gone Hollywood.”

In fact, in a recent interview with CosmoGIRL! the 19-year-old dancer says she is committed to remaining a virgin until she is married (though, she does admit to being tempted by the excess of Tinseltown—see: actor Kevin Connolly).

“I think [the choice] to have sex before marriage is an individual one, but if you’re just with one person, it’s only for one good reason, and [waiting to have sex] will strengthen that relationship,” Hough tells the magazine. “I’m not trying to preach consequences here, but I think when you say no, down the line it will be a better decision.”

Hough reveals that her Mormon upbringing makes it hard to date people in the entertainment industry and she says she has had a hard time fitting in with the Hollywood scene.

“I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs, so those things immediately separate me,” she says. “It’s all very enticing, though.”

Thanks where Hough’s dear dad comes in. The pretty two-stepper, who has swept two seasons of “Dancing” with pro athletes Apolo Ono and Helio Castroneves respectively, claims her father’s text messages are what keep her on track.

“My dad, whom I’m very close with, will text me, ‘Are you doing the right things, in the right place, at the right time?'” she says. “And it’s usually when I’m someplace I shouldn’t be. So I’ll call him and say, ‘Thanks, I needed to hear that.'”

All that said I still think Hough will end up marrying someone in the “business.” Maybe not an actor (a producer/manager-type perhaps), but I doubt she’ll settle down with Joe Schmo from Alpena, Michigan.

MARIO HITS BROADWAY

Former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Mario Lopez (you know the one who should have won it all a few seasons back, but ended up with the girl instead of the mirror ball trophy) is getting ready to put his dance moves to the test once again.

According to show producers, Lopez will be joining the successful Broadway revival of the classic musical “A Chorus Line.”

You can catch the former “Saved By the Bell” star beginning April 15th at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, in the role of the show-within-the-show’s director Zach, which producers say is essentially a non-singing part that does require he bust a move on stage.

The Extra TV host will appear on Broadway through September 7th.
