Dandelion Organic Dolls for Toddlers

My head spins when I read recall lists on toys. The threat of lead poisoning or other chemicals which could cause harm makes me second guess the toys in my child’s toy box. It also makes me hesitate to buy from the local toy store. I hate the thought of my two year old putting a toy in her mouth that may be filled with lead or other harmful chemicals. Believe me; she still puts everything in her mouth, including her sister’s Barbie dolls. When offered the opportunity to review an organic doll from Dandelion, I knew that was right up my alley. Now, I normally associate organic with apples so hearing of an organic doll grabbed my interest.

What is so organic about this doll?

The doll is made with certified organic cotton. This means no pollution was done to the water, air, or soil in the process of producing the cotton. In addition, the doll is not filled with petroleum based polyfill but with fibers made from corn. The doll is machine washable and dryer safe. This is a relief since my little one drags her doll everywhere with her resulting in a dollie in need of a bath.

What I liked:

The doll is just precious. I love the sweet pink dress and pony tails. The doll is very soft yet durable. This doll makes a great long term lovey for a little girl. With dolls looking more and more “grown up” this doll is refreshing with its little girl appeal and traditional doll look. Of course, it gets more than a few points for being one of my daughter’s new favorite toys. The fact that this doll washes nice is another important reason to like this doll.

What I didn’t like:

I am not thrilled with the $24.99 price tag. If you child sleeps with it, plays with it, and it becomes a lovey for the next few years, that could be worth it to you. The price really is the only detractor. On one hand you could say it is worth the cost for a safe toy. You will have to decide that for yourself.
