When we lived in San Diego, my husband and I loved to go to Dave & Buster’s. This restaurant managed to combine two things we love – eating and playing games. When we discovered Dave & Buster’s, we were elated!
If you have never heard of or been to a Dave & Buster’s, you are really missing out. Established in the late 1970’s, Dave & Buster’s started out merely by coincidence. Two very popular businesses, Buster’s Restaurant and Slick Willy’s World of Entertainment just happened to be located next to each other in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dave, owner of Slick Willy’s and Buster became friends. As they realize that, while both were doing a great business, they often noticed their customers going from one business to the other. Then they had an idea – why not combine the two businesses? And thus Dave & Buster’s was born.
Dave & Buster’s has great food in an atmosphere appropriate for the whole family. From their menu, you can choose such delectable delights as pastas, seafood, burgers and salads, but Dave & Buster’s is probably best known for their steak and rib platters. Dave & Buster’s has two bars: the Viewpoint Bar and the Midway Bar. The Viewpoint Bar is an excellent place to eat, watch the game on a big screen television, and just relax with friends. The Midway Bar is located in the heart of the best part of Dave & Buster’s – the games. While I love their food, I love playing their games as much, if not more. The Million Dollar Midway is very impressive with over 200 interactive and video games. This includes the newest games as well as many traditional favorites such as skeet ball. To play, you do not need a pocket full of quarters; just a Power Card (which you have charged to the monetary amount you wish to spend). Many of the games offer tickets, which can be redeemed for prizes at the end of the night. After 10:00 pm, the Million Dollar Midway becomes open to adults only so they can enjoy their favorite alcoholic beverage (served at the Midway Bar) while playing their favorite games.
